Lilith Fair brings Tegan and Sara and Brandi, oh my

Remember when we all dreamed out loud about who we’d like to see play the return of the new, resuscitated, femaletastic Lilith Fair next year? Well, looks like the music gods took note. The first roster of more than 40 artists was released today and joining festival founder Sarah McLachlan as headliners will be Mary J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, Tegan and Sara and Miranda Lambert among many others.

Joining Tegan and Sara are two other out lesbian acts: Brandi Carlile and Indigo Girls. We’re here, we’re queer, we sing really, really well.

The lineup features a diverse mix from pop (Ingrid Michaelson, Sara Bareilles, Colbie Caillat) to R&B (Janelle Monae, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu) to folk (Tara MacLean, Jennifer Knapp, The Weepies) to rock (Metric, A Fine Frenzy) to country (Sugarland, Emmylou Harris). It’s kind of like putting your iPod on estrogen shuffle.

Tiger Woods’ Mistress Caught in a Series of Lies

Just who is this Rachel Uchitel, the New York club manager accused of having a fling with Tiger Woods that sparked a battered husband’s desperate escape-turned-car-crash? Well, first of all, she wants you to know that she’s not a homewrecker, even though she fucked “Bones” star David Borneaz all through his wife’s pregnancy. That was before, you see. And the whole Tiger thing was made up by two “drug-abusing hookers” that sold the story to the tabloids for money, making her the victim in all this. Except maybe not. The Enquirer says

Rachel has been caught in outright lies.

Rachel traveled to Australia to meet with Tiger while he played earlier this month in the Australian Masters, but Rachel initially told us she traveled there with a boyfriend.

In a later conversation, however, she admitted she had lied about going to Australia with a boyfriend. She said she was in the country “for business.”

She also said she was not in Tiger’s hotel. But an Enquirer reporter eye witnessed her IN the hotel.

She then said she did not go to the floor of the hotel where Tiger was staying.

But an ENQUIRER reporter in Melbourne watched as Rachel checked in to the posh Crown Towers hotel, and went up to the 35th floor, which houses the hotel’s ritzy VIP Suite [where Tiger was staying].

Sir Walter Scott famously said, “Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive,” but that seems a little pretentious given the situation. “Liar, liar, pants on fire” really sums it up a whole lot better.

Jaimee Grubbs is Tiger’s other woman

Tiger Woods might have gotten off with a small fine and a ticket for his car accident the other night, but the fallout from the incident could cost him millions.  The once squeaky clean Woods has now been tied to another woman who is claiming she had an affair with the golfer after a meeting in Vegas a couple of years ago.  Jaimee Grubbs, a reject from the VH1 reality show Tool Academy, has come forward to claim her 15 minutes of fame.  She has claimed to have over 300 steamy text messages, and a voicemail (check it out on the next page) from Woods claiming his wife had found out about the affair.  The original woman at the center of the scandal, Rachel Uchitel, is still denying and inappropriate activities with the married golfer and has stated that the rumor was started by a friend of a friend.  Check out 6 pictures of Jaimee on the flip…

So far Nike has come forward saying the support Woods and that makes sense since he isn’t just a spokesman for the brand he is a cash cow for Nike Golf.  His other endorsement deals have yet to be so open about sticking with him.  If any of his deals are dropped due to the scandal it could cost Woods millions in endorsement money.  That is a steep price to pay for a girl that was dumped by a guy on Tool Academy.

George Clooney is looking deliciously dirty, jokes about smoking crack

Well, hello Sailor! George is looking good to me for some reason this morning. I like that he looks a little dirty and scruffy. It’s working. Clooney brought his girlfriend Elisabetta and his mom Nina to the Los Angeles premiere of Up In The Air last night. Everybody wore black, like it was a Johnny Cash theme night. Clooney often wears all black, because he loves the monochromatic look, but I expected more from Elisabetta. She doesn’t look like a kinky, gold-dogging, trophy girlfriend! What the hell? She looks… dare I say… respectable. Elisabetta, is that even you?

On the red carpet, Radar caught up with Clooney and they even got him to “crack” a joke (video here):

George Clooney’s reputation as a jokester was solidified on the red carpet in Los Angeles Monday night at the premiere of his new film Up in the Air.

“I’m up in the air on mostly on the crack that I’m on right now,” the ever so dashing Clooney exclusively told RadarOnline.com.

Should we be worried about this? Is the most gorgeous man in Hollywood going to be checking into rehab?

“Rehab is the woosy way, that’s the new Hollywood way,” he explained to us. “We go the old way, which is just party through it!”

Also on hand were his good friends Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, fresh from their Mexican Thanksgiving vacation with George and his lovely Italian girlfriend Elizabeth Canalis, who took pictures with George but did not walk the carpet and answer questions.

So we had to ask, is Clooney up in the air about marriage too? “Exactly,” he charmingly told us.

In Up In The Air, Clooney plays Ryan Bingham, a jaded man whose job is to fire people from their jobs. When his boss hires arrogant young Natalie, she develops a method of video conferencing that will allow termination without ever leaving the office - essentially threatening the nomadic existence Ryan loves.

Determined to show Natalie the error of her logic, Ryan takes her on one of his cross country firing trips, but as she starts to realize the disheartening realities of her profession, he begins to see the downfalls to his way of life.

Up In The Air opens Friday, December 4.

My mom wants to see this already. She’s a sucker for any movie where George wears a suit. And I’m being completely serious. But Up In the Air is getting solid reviews, despite it’s somewhat crummy subject matter. And many critics have Clooney on the Lead Actor Oscar shortlist, up there with Daniel Day-Lewis in Nine and Colin Firth in A Single Man. Methinks Elisabetta has her eye on the prize - walking down the Oscar red carpet.

Bourne 4 director reportedly quits, Matt Damon might not sign on

I found it surprising that Matt Damon was supposedly up for another Bourne movie, because he hinted while doing promotion for the third one that he was through. When asked if he would play Bourne again, he said “When I did the first movie, I was 29 years old. I am 37 now, and after a tough fighting scene, the next day you wake up and feel your body more. That’s just the way it is.”

Now there’s news that Damon was probably on board for another film in the incredibly successful action series, but that the director has quit and this brings his participation up to question. Director Paul Greengrass, who worked with Damon on the last two Bourne films and recently completed that Iraq war thriller Green Zone starring Damon, has reportedly resigned due to differences with Universal studios. Greengrass has a kind of free-wheeling exploratory approach to filmmaking and this can get incredibly expensive for the studio. Green Zone is rumored to have cost a whopping $150 million to make.

The Playlist reports that Greengrass has withdrawn from the fourth film after Universal tried to get him to reign in costs. They also supposedly hired another screenwriter without consulting with him first and still don’t have a completed script. I’ve never heard of this blog The Playlist but their story is convincing and they claim to have a source that says that the director has all but left and that Universal is trying to keep it quiet. It’s possible Universal and Greengrass will work things out, though, as there’s a ton of money at stake:

We honestly figured someone like Nikki Finke would be breaking this before us (and our source was a little surprised as well), but she’s been a little AWOL of late which leaves the door open.

Sources and friends close to the project tells us that Paul Greengrass has quit “Bourne 4″ and walked away from the project. This actually happened more than a week ago, and we’ve been getting our ducks in a row before publishing this report (and again, we’re shocked Finke or the Wrap didn’t get wind of this yet and way before us).

If you’ve been following our Bourne reports of late, you know we’ve been hinting towards trouble on this project for some time now, but it’s not hard to discern even as an outsider.

Two scripts have been written for the project, which is not exactly a vote of confidence. One penned by George Nolfi (who co-wrote ‘Bourne 3′ and is currently busy working with Matt Damon on “The Adjustment Bureau”), and a few months ago, Universal hired another scribe, Josh Zetumer, to write what they are diplomatically calling a “parallel” script. Zetumer has been a Black List favorite for several years, and has “The Infiltrator” in development with Leonard DiCaprio’s company, Appian Way, and wrote Peter Berg’s “Dune” — he is hot to say the least.

A small part of the problem? Greengrass, who has been busy toiling away on “Green Zone,” was not consulted by Universal in the hiring of a new writer. This obviously did not make him happy, but that’s only part of the issue that’s been ongoing for some time (meanwhile, no one seems to love Nolfi’s version).

Matt Damon has already said that “Green Zone,” another Universal film that Greengrass directed, cost $100 million to make. But the price tag of this Iraq War-set thriller is actually much closer to $150 million — Greengrass has reshot several times (gets expensive) and has been tinkering away in the editing room for months spending Universal’s money and testing their patience. This was supposed to be a smaller movie that Greengrass made in between ‘Bourne’ films, something Universal let Greengrass make to keep him happy and part of the Uni/Bourne family, but you can bet when he said, “(expensive) Iraq War thriller,” the studio wasn’t exactly jazzed, even if Matt Damon was the star.

Going further back, “The Bourne Ultimatum” was a huge hit, obviously, but again was made in a similar fashion: very expensive and lots of reshoots because no screenplay was finished. Greengrass is now infamous for “finding the movie” or “figuring it all out” during the middle of production. As in, shooting lots of various things and letting the story naturally and organically come to the surface. He’s fine with continuing that approach on “Bourne 4,” but after the “Green Zone” expense, the buttoning-up of budgets across the board and the major overhead of ‘Bourne 3′ (that had to be a huge hit to be successful), Universal does not want to take that risk once again and the studio and director have been butting heads on that point ever since. Considering everything Greengrass did with the Bourne franchise, he hasn’t been happy how he’s been treated on “Green Zone” and how hard the studio has been riding him. It seems like the straw has finally broken the camel’s back.

So right now, they’re citing “creative differences” and we expect this to hit the trades at any moment.

There’s chatter about this all around CAA, and Universal surely doesn’t want word to get out. The conventional wisdom is that Greengrass and Universal can kiss and make up and in a few months they could be right back at it, but as a rather famous director said this weekend, “So, I guess they’re looking for a new ‘Bourne’ director, huh?”

What’s Matt Damon’s take on this? He’s “loyal to Paul” which means he’s likely not going to star in any “Bourne 4″ film without him. Or at least not without his blessing and even then, it would have to be a spectacular script (and right now one of those doesn’t exist, but Universal has been exploring other options….).

There’s more at the source, including the news that Comcast is planning a buyout of Universal. Supposedly Comcast called Damon’s agent to see if he was doing another Bourne film as that factors into how much the deal is worth.

I really enjoy the Bourne movies and I would love to see another one, but with so many issues it doesn’t seem likely. Even if everything gets worked out amicably between Greengrass and Universal, filming isn’t likely to start for another year and a half. Damon’s heart isn’t in it, either, or he would be making more positive statements about the series. It’s kind of sad, because there’s no other action franchise that’s half as smart or entertaining as Bourne.

The good news is, I just watched the trailer for Green Zone and it’s like Bourne goes to Iraq. A loyal fighter discovers that the organization he’s working for is the real enemy and ends up trying to take them down. I’ll definitely be watching this one. Green Zone is out in the US on March 12, 2010.

Rachel Uchitel cause of Tiger Woods accident?

The accident that Tiger Woods was involved in this weekend is being linked to a model he is rumored to be having an affair with.  Rachel Uchitel is the rumored leggy model to have caught the eye of Tiger, but she has come forward and vehemently denied the rumored affair with the superstar.  Since Tiger and his wife have yet to come forward and issue a statement about the accident we will just have to wait and see what the real story is.

Dinner crashers shook hands with President Obama

This time, the picture is the story.

After the Secret Service insisted that President Barack Obama was never endangered by a security breach that allowed a reality TV hopeful and her husband to crash his first state dinner, the White House released a photo showing that not only did the pair get close to Obama, they actually shook hands and spoke with him.

As the White House was disclosing that the Virginia couple, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, met Obama in the receiving line, a “deeply concerned and embarrassed” Secret Service on Friday acknowledged that its officers never checked whether the two were on the guest list before letting them onto the White House grounds.

The White House photo showed the Salahis in the receiving line in the Blue Room with Obama and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, in whose honor the dinner was held. Obama and reality TV hopeful Michaele Salahi are smiling as she grasps his right hand with both of hers and her husband looks on. Singh is to Obama’s left.

The Secret Service previously had said the president was not in danger because the couple – like others at the dinner – had gone through magnetometers. But in light of their close proximity to the president, no such claim was made Friday.

“This incident compromised the safety and security of the president and undermined our confidence in the protection we expect of the Secret Service,” said Rep. Edolphus Towns, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Disturbed by the agency’s failure “to follow basic security procedures,” the New York Democrat said in a statement Saturday he wants a review of Secret Service practices and has asked for a briefing next week.

The Salahis were not on the guest list and should have been barred from entering last Tuesday’s dinner on the White House South Lawn for the prime minister of India, said Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan.

Sullivan said the agency that protects the president is “deeply concerned and embarrassed” that procedures were not followed.

“As our investigation continues, appropriate measures have been taken to ensure this is not repeated,” Sullivan said in a written statement.

“The preliminary findings of our internal investigation have determined established protocols were not followed at an initial checkpoint, verifying that two individuals were on the guest list,” Sullivan said. “Although these individuals went through magnetometers and other levels of screening, they should have been prohibited from entering the event entirely. That failing is ours.”

Agency spokesmen declined comment Saturday on reports that agents had visited the Salahis’ vineyard in Hume, Va., in search of the couple. Voice mail messages left Saturday at two separate telephone numbers for the Oasis Winery, south of Washington, were not immediately returned.

Secret Service spokesman Jim Mackin said Friday that officers at the checkpoint had a clipboard with names of the invited guests. Even though the Salahis names weren’t on it, they were allowed to proceed. The officers should have called someone on the White House staff or Secret Service personnel before allowing them past the checkpoint, Mackin said.

Earlier, Mackin said the Secret Service may pursue a criminal investigation of the Salahis.

Sullivan said it wasn’t good enough that his agency screened more than 1.2 million visitors last year to the White House complex and protected more than 10,000 sites for the president, vice president and others.

“Even with these successes, we need to be right 100 percent of the time,” he said.

It is unclear what the couple told officers at the checkpoint that allowed them to go through the security screening. Federal law makes it a crime to knowingly and willfully falsify statements on matters within the federal government’s jurisdiction.

“As this moves closer to a criminal investigation there’s less that we can say,” Mackin said. “We’re not leaving any option off the table at this point.”

The Salahis lawyer, Paul Gardner, posted a comment on their Facebook page saying, “My clients were cleared by the White House, to be there.” He said more information would be forthcoming. Several messages left at Gardner’s law firm on Friday and Saturday were not returned.

Bravo Media has confirmed that Michaele Salahi is being considered as a participant in the upcoming “The Real Housewives of D.C.” program and on the day of the dinner was being filmed by Half Yard Productions, the producer of the program.

Tiger Woods in Serious Condition After Car Accident

I have to admit, I don’t quite understand this:

Professional golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident early this morning, the Florida Highway Patrol just reported.

Woods, 33, pulled out of his driveway in the Isleworth community about 2:25 a.m. when he struck a fire hydrant, and then drove into a tree at his neighbor’s property, FHP reported.

Woods was transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee in serious condition, FHP said. No other information about his condition has been released. A Health Central hospital employee said at 2:30 p.m. that Woods was not a patient. A hospital operator would not say if Woods had been treated and released.

FHP said the airbags in Woods’ Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, which means the vehicle was traveling under 33 mph.

Police say charges are pending, but that no alcohol was involved. How do you get seriously injured running your Escalade into a fire hydrant at low speeds? Because, like, if I had to go to the hospital every time I accidentally ran my SUV into, ya know, a parking garage wall, I’d just have a regular parking spot at the damn hospital.

Either way, I sincerely hope he’s okay and has a speedy recovery. Just not speedy enough to run into a fire hydrant.

Michael Phelps secretly dated both Miss California’s

Olympian Michael Phelps has a thing for Miss California. Both of them.

Nicole Johnson, who just days ago was crowned Miss California 2010, admitted to TMZ.com that she had a year-long romantic relationship with the gold medalist.

“Now that it is after the fact, I will admit that we were together,” she said. “We agreed to keep this private because it was the only thing that he could keep private … we remain close friends.”

But it turns out, according to PerezHilton.com, that Phelps, 24, may have cheated on Johnson with none other than former Miss California and solo-sex tapist Carrie Prejean, 22.

“Nicole Johnson dated Michael Phelps for a year during 2007 -2008,” a source tells the site. “The main reason they ended their relationship is because Carrie Prejean started dating Michael… . and bragging about it while he was still with Nicole.”

Unfortunately for Johnson, even Prejean’s grandma said it’s true.

“Carrie and Michael have been out to baseball games and lunch,” Jeanette Coppolla told RadarOnline.com in April. “He always calls her when he is in town and they go out.”

And apparently, casual Carrie understood Phelps is a ladies man.

“Carrie knows that he has dated a lot of girls but she enjoys going out with him and isn’t serious about being in a relationship with him,” she said. “He’s a nice guy and she likes him.”

Adam Lambert “The Early Show” VIDEO [11/25/09]

On CBS’ The Early Show live from New York Wednesday, Adam Lambert spoke with hosts Maggie Rodriguez and Harry Smith about the controversy surrounding his recent behavior onstage. Lambert’s sexually-charged performance for his debut single at Sunday’s American Music Awards has grabbed headlines and helped send downloads of his debut album soaring worldwide, but the outing also infuriated music watchers — who acuse the singer of alienating fans and risking his career with flamboyance.

Lambert kissed a male keyboard player, had a dancer simulate oral sex on him, and flipped the audience the finger while performing “For Your Entertainment,” a song with a sexual edge on last weekend’s show. ABC received so many complaints about the performance that the network’s morning show, Good Morning America, cancelled Lambert’s scheduled appearance because it said it couldn’t trust what he would do.

While Adam admits her may have gone a bit overboard, but doubts his performance would not have caused as much controversy if he weren’t openly gay. He also said there were other “adult” moments on the show that caused no outrage.

“I admit I did get carried away, but I don’t see anything wrong with it,” he said Wednesday. “I do see how people got offended and that was not my intention. My intention was to interpret the lyrics of my song and have a good time with it.”

Courtney Love Being Sued By American Express

A lawsuit filed against rocker Courtney Love by American Express is set to move ahead. A Los Angeles judge has set a mid-December date for a status conference in litigation between Love and the credit card company, which alleges she owes more than $300,000 in unpaid charges and other fees.
The complaint, filed in late May in LA's US District Court, contends that the 45-year-old widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain "has failed and refused to make the payments" on her Amex Gold card. The amount due, including damages, lawyers' fees and late charges, is $352,059.67, according to the lawsuit, which states that the company has suspended Love's charging privileges.
US District Judge George H. Wu set a December 14th hearing to discuss pre-trial issues in the case. Last year, Love was also sued in state court for $1 million by a business management and accounting firm that claimed that the Hole singer had never paid the company its share of profits from the sale of Nirvana's publishing catalogue. Love had previously reportedly sold a portion of Cobain's share of Nirvana's publishing catalog for $19.5 million.

Curb Your Enthusiasm: Synecdoche, New York

Whatever your thoughts on the wisdom, or execution, of the Seinfeld reunion on the season finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm, it’s impossible to deny that Larry David playing George Costanza — literally, Larry David playing him, in a way that you wonder if he has wanted to all along — is one of the funniest scenes either show ever produced. In a meta-show, it was the ultimate meta-moment: Larry David playing Fake Larry David pushing aside Fake Jason Alexander from playing the character Larry David based on Larry David. Stuffed into khakis and that famous sweater, Larry’s George is a caricature based on a caricature based on a caricature. It was all anyone could have ever hoped for from the Curb/Seinfeld reunion: Lunacy and iconic-television history colliding and exploding.

The scene was so funny that it almost made you forgive the finale’s occasional clumsiness, with the re-igniting of Larry and Cheryl’s marriage sort of sputtering to its final conclusion. (Larry was more concerned with being a "Wood Detective" than finally having his wife back.) The Seinfeld scenes were more nostalgic than knock-down hilarious — seeing the gang back at the diner was enough to make you leap off your sofa — and the subplot with Mocha Joe and attack dogs felt like filler, and beside the point. Larry does get Cheryl back, but as much as the show has labored to show how much Larry really does love her — and considering how Larry David’s real-life divorce inspired the Cheryl divorce plotline in the first place, one suspects he wrote this reconciliation as a fantasy — the same way TV–Larry David wrote his into the fake Seinfeld reunion — the way it ended was awfully perfunctory. But compared to how that other Seinfeld finale ended well, you couldn’t help but think that wasn’t the point, anyway. Rather than the stated plotline of Larry doing a Seinfeld reunion to get Cheryl back , we think the real Larry David was actually using the getting-Cheryl-back storyline as an excuse to do the Seinfeld goodbye he wanted (and felt the audience deserved) all along.

We suspect that's because this season was about an entirely different, and far more satisfying, love story: The one between Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld. (We can no longer tell which is real and which is fake.) Their scenes together all season were relaxed and off-the-cuff funny, two old, old friends, two "twins in the womb" (as Jerry calls them) thrilled to be working together again. Since Seinfeld went off the air, Jerry Seinfeld has lost a bit of his edge, doing kid movies, appearing in silly commercials and promoting his wife's cookbook. Seeing him back with Larry made one sense he had returned to familiar, comfortable terrain, with his old pal, just trying to be funny again. These are two lifelong friends who, when they work together, are wholly at ease and consistently uproarious. Is it too much to ask that a season eight of Curb just involve Jerry and Larry hanging out? Maybe we can bring this meta full-circle, and make it all about them trying to pitch a show about the making of a show about Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld trying to pitch a show. We would definitely watch that.

OJ Simpson - Many Want To Interview All Star Convict

Iremember sitting in the cafeteria of Brown University the afternoon that the ‘Not Guilty’ verdict for OJ was read at his murder trial – a chorus of screams and shouts and cheers rang out from behind the service counters where the employees had been glued to the television awaiting the verdict - what a happy bunch these employees of the university were to here that OJ would go free! I remember feeling angry and betrayed at the time how could an obvious murderer go free - how could a jury find this murdering low life not guilty?

Years passed and OJ continued to live large - while his two victims, Ronald Goldman and Nicole Brown, lay dead. It bothered me greatly - whenever I’d read something about Simpson I would recall with bitterness the miscarriage of justice that allowed him to go free. Then the idiot pushed his luck too far and the fist of justice came crashing down on his dumb over-sized head! Yay! 13 years to the day after he was acquitted of murder in California he was found guilty of 12 charges including kidnapping and armed robbery in Nevada!! Now the murderer sits in jail on a sentence of up to 33 years - he will not be eligible for parole for at least 9 years.

Anyway, I digress. I think that granting interviews with OJ is a good idea - let people see what happens to remorseless bad men who do awful things to other people. Photo: Flynet Pictures

Courteney Cox stops production of ‘Cougar Town’ to work on ‘family matter’

Our positive thoughts go out to, Courteney Cox, who has had to temporarily shut down production on Cougar Town to “deal with a private family matter,” according to a statement released by ABC. Cox, 45, the star and executive producer of Cougar Town, plays a 40-something newly single mom in the new TV series, thrown back into the dating world. Courteney has been married since 1999 to husband David Arquette, with one one daughter, Coco, 5.  A network rep declined to elaborate on what the ‘matter’ is, and Cox’s personal publicist is not talking for now. Were not going to speculate, given this could be anything, but we’re sure there will be many inventive rumors out soon. Hopefully though, this is just a minor private matter that will be resolved well and soon.

Dr. Conrad Murray Heads Back to Work

What?  Is this some kind of joke?  According to TMZ,  Dr. Conrad Murray, currently the number one suspect in the death of singer Michael Jackson, is going back to work tomorrow to resume practicing medicine.

Murray’s lawyer confirmed the news and stated that Conrad would be at Armstrong Medical Clinic in Houston starting on Monday, November 23, 2009.

One might assume that most people would NOT go back to THAT doctor.  On second thought, why wouldn’t somebody who is looking for a little pain relief go to him?  There may well be a line extending all the way around the block.  We’re just saying…

The original marriage certificate isssued to Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley following their Spring 1994 wedding in the Dominican Republic is set to go under the hammer.

Morgan Freeman Settles Car Accident Lawsuit

Morgan Freeman has finally settled the lawsuit between he and the woman who rode shotgun when a car he was driving in 2008 flipped multiple times on a Mississippi highway.
